Deadline for Utility-Scale Wind Turbine and Ocean Energy Technologies R&D Proposals Extended

November 1, 2007

The U.S. Department of Energy Wind and Hydropower Technologies Program extended its deadline for proposals from potential partners in research and development of utility-scale wind turbine and ocean energy technologies. The new deadline for submitting proposals is November 26, 2007. Proposals will be accepted from companies or organizations interested in a research, testing, or product development partnership. The objective of these cost-neutral Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) partnerships is to solve industry's key questions in utility-scale wind and, subject to FY08 Congressional Appropriations for an Ocean Energy Program, ocean energy technologies. The program has budgeted approximately $1 million for in kind laboratory-based technical support for these agreements and expects to budget additional funding next fiscal year for additional proposals.
