Guided Presentations
The NREL Visitors Center offers education programs for children, teens and adults free of charge. These programs provide a fun and engaging way to explore renewable energy and energy efficiency concepts and applications in an interactive environment. Each scheduled program is hosted by a trained NREL guide and includes a presentation on the nature of renewable energy, a presentation on NREL's research and technologies and an appropriate exercise to discover our interactive exhibit hall. Reservations should be made at least 30 days in advance; the minimum group size for a guided program is 15 persons. Contact Ivilina Thornton at 303-384-6566 to make your group reservation. Small groups interested in a self-guided experience are encouraged to call ahead.
Parking is very limited and groups are encouraged to arrive by private bus, carpool, or public transportation.
Public Programs
The Visitors Center hosts public programs on clean energy topics every month. These programs include Power Lunch lectures and special topic presentations by experts from NREL, local universities, professional groups, and distinguished NREL visitors. On occasion NREL offers special exhibitions. Please check the Visitor Center events page for more information.
Saturday Events
Five Saturdays a year, the Visitors Center hosts Open House events for the public. Visitors of all ages are welcome to explore the interactive exhibit hall, take virtual tours of NREL facilities, and engage in hands-on activities. Check the events page for specific presentations and workshops.
