If you are visiting any part of NREL other than the Visitors Center, NREL's security procedures require that you show government-issued photo identification upon check in before you can receive a visitor's badge.
Visitors to the NREL Visitors Center are not required to check in at the Site Entrance Building, and do not need a visitor's badge. Foreign national students participating in Visitors Center group programs are required to have a passport and visa as well as advance security approval.
Park in one of the designated visitor's parking places at Building 17 and proceed to the front entrance of Building 17. All visitors to NREL's central offices must check in with the receptionist on the ground floor of Building 17 to receive a visitor's badge. Visitors are required to show government-issued photo identification (e.g., driver's license, passport, military ID). Your NREL or DOE host will then be called to escort you. Foreign Nationals should check with their host prior to their visit to make sure that a Foreign National Data Card has been signed and approved.
