Traveling by Air

Three main airports serve the Washington, D.C. area: Ronald Reagan National Airport, Washington Dulles International Airport, and Baltimore-Washington International Airport. Ronald Reagan National Airport is closest to the NREL office.

Traveling by Public Transit

Traveling by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's Metro subway or bus system is an environmentally friendly and economical way to reach to the NREL office.

The L'Enfant Plaza metro station is the closest station to NREL. To reach the NREL office from this station, follow these instructions:

  1. There are multiple exits at the L'Enfant Plaza metro station. From all four lines (yellow, green, blue, and orange) use the exit marked "L'Enfant Plaza" (not the Department of Transportation or 7th and Maryland Avenue).
  2. As you exit the station, make a right turn at the top of the escalator and exit directly outside.
  3. Go down the steps, which lead to D Street SW.
  4. Turn left and, at the light, cross to the opposite side of D Street. Look for the "Do Not Enter" sign.
  5. Cross again and enter the building at 901 D Street. NREL is located on the 9th floor.
