NGNGV Leadership and Working Group Meeting

March 2001, Diamond Bar, California

NREL hosted a meeting for members of the NGNGV Working Group on March 12-13 in Diamond Bar, Calif. The Working Group focused on coordinating Phase I of the program, which includes assessing available information on engine and vehicle technology and developing a detailed strategy for vehicle and emission control.

The Working Group also made suggestions for modifications to the request for proposals (RFP) for Phase I of the program. The RFP requests qualified subcontractors to assess technologies and methods for controlling emissions from natural gas engines and to develop preliminary designs and market introduction strategies for a medium-duty, compressed natural gas vehicle and a heavy-duty, liquefied natural gas vehicle.

NREL's RFP and amendment are now available on NREL's Contracts and Business Services Web site. For details, refer to RFP No. RCI-1-31070, entitled Engine Aftertreatment/Emissions Control Design for the Next Generation Natural Gas Vehicle. The amendment consists of two documents: amendment #1 and a revised statement of work, dated March 21, 2001. Please note that the proposal due date has been extended to April 24, 2001.
