Fuel Cell Lift Trucks: A Grocer's Best Friend

December 2, 2011

A story about how fuel cell powered lift trucks are helping companies like Baldor Specialty Foods ensure that their customers have access to the freshest seasonal produce was recently added to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Blog. Working in conjunction with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), DOE has been analyzing the performance of Oorja's fuel cell lift trucks at grocery distributors around the country. So far, NREL data have shown that Oorja's fuel cell powered lift trucks can operate for 14 hours — more than double the autonomy of a battery powered lift truck.
