Research and Development

Research conducted by the Fleet Test and Evaluation team supports the development and deployment of alternative fuel and advanced vehicle technologies in medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.

Fleet Test and Evaluation projects focus on hybrid electric vehicles, alternative fuels, and thermal load and idle reduction technologies. The team's project areas include:

  • Hybrid Electric Drive Systems
  • Alternative Fuels
  • Truck Efficiency
