NREL's scientists and engineers develop award-winning technologies available for licensing.

NREL scientists and engineers produce breakthrough and award-winning renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies that are available for licensing.

To see our licensing opportunities, browse the available technologies.

When licensing a technology, we recognize the unique circumstances of each client and marketplace. Therefore, licenses may be for a specified field of use or geographical area. And they may be exclusive or nonexclusive.

We also recognize that R&D efforts require significant investment by industry to create commercially viable products. To help minimize the investment risk for this research and development, we provide intellectual property protection.
