NREL Engineer Elected to Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association Board of Directors

May 23, 2011

Keith Wipke of the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Fuel Cell and Hydrogen Energy Association (FCHEA).

“I am looking forward to helping this organization achieve its goals of market introduction and success for hydrogen and fuel cell technologies,” Wipke said. “I personally would like to see hydrogen fuel cell cars stay on track for 2015 introduction to consumers, with enough fueling stations to make consumers comfortable with fuel availability.”

FCHEA is dedicated to the commercialization of fuel cells and hydrogen energy technologies. Its members are at the forefront of efforts to transform the energy network, fundamentally altering the way energy is generated and used. FCHEA membership organizations include universities; government laboratories and agencies; trade associations; fuel cell materials, components and systems manufacturers; hydrogen producers and fuel distributors; and utilities and other end users.

Sustainable Mobility in the Spotlight
In related news, Wipke attended the recent Michelin Challenge Bibendum event in Berlin, Germany, where he was interviewed by a Michelin staffer who posted the interview on YouTube. Challenge Bibendum is an independent, international forum that promotes sustainable road mobility.
