Energy Systems Integration

Using its new, state-of-the-art Energy Systems Integration Facility (ESIF), NREL is exploring the concept of energy systems integration evaluating  the relationships between electricity, thermal, and fuel systems and data and information networks to find ways to ensure optimal integration and interoperability across the entire energy system.

Electricity Integration

NREL's electricity integration activities enable the testing of renewable energy technologies and how they might be fully integrated into grid planning and operations—from ultra-high-voltage transmission systems to medium- and low-voltage distribution grids.
