The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), the owner of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), developed the vision for a super energy-efficient office building on the NREL campus that would serve as a model and showcase for what is technologically possible and commercially viable. National Renewable Energy Laboratory
