2013 PV Module Reliability Workshop
Workshop Updates
The 2013 Photovoltaic Module Reliability Workshop (PVMRW) will be held in Golden, Colorado, February 26–27, 2013. The 2013 workshop will host U.S. subcommittee meetings of the International PV QA Task Force. As in past years, all PVMRW participants will be required to actively participate by presenting an oral or poster presentation. This requirement has greatly increased the value of the workshop, so please be planning your submission. The presentations will focus on accelerated testing and field experience with PV modules. The discussion will focus on defining test standards that correlate with field experience. The results of this U.S. meeting will be shared with the International PV QA Task Groups following the workshop.
In conjunction with the PVMRW, there will be additional meetings:
- 1st IEEE Conference on Reliability Science for Advanced Materials and Devices (RSAMD), Colorado School of Mines (CSM), February 24–25, 2013; http://www.csmspace.com/events/rsamd/
- USTAG meeting, Feb. 25, 2013 for USTAG members and potential members only.
- International PV Module QA Task Force, Thin Film Task Group, Kick Off Meeting, Feb. 28–Mar. 1, 2013.
Please note: Registration is required for each of these meetings separately. Walk-in registrations will not be possible for the workshop, conference, or USTAG meeting.

Similar to the previous PVMRW, the objective of the 2013 workshop is for participants to share information, leading to the improvement of PV module reliability. Such improvement reduces the cost of solar electricity and promotes investor confidence in the technology—both critical goals for moving PV technologies deeper into the electricity marketplace.
The workshop is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy Solar Energy Technologies Program. Please direct inquiries to: john.wohlgemuth@nrel.gov
