This 5-megawatt solar-cell production equipment at United Solar, built by Energy Conversion Devices (ECD), was dedicated exclusively to triple-junction cell production. ECD's goals under its 1998 PVMaT subcontract was to reduce module cost by 25% - 30% and increase manufacturing capacity by 60%.

The PV manufacturing R&D Project team have prepared several useful technical papers and reports during the life of the Project that are organized in a searchable database. You can search all papers published by the PV Manufacturing R&D project staff coordinators by author, year of publication, or a portion of the title.
