Organization ChartThe National Renewable Energy Laboratory director is Dan Arvizu; Bill Glover is the Laboratory deputy director and chief operating officer. The NREL Fellows Council and the NREL National Advisory Council have advisory roles in overseeing laboratory operations. Neil Snyder is executive director of Systems Integration. Director Arvizu oversees the NREL Legal Office, managed by Steve Silbergleid; Environment, Safety and Health, managed by Frank Rukavina; the NREL Ombuds Carolyn Noorbakhsh; Program Development, managed by Mike Pacheco; Stakeholder Liaison Jessie Harris; Strategic Partnerships, managed by Stan Bull; Senior Research Fellow Arthur Nozik; and the External Affairs Office, managed by Executive Director Bob Noun, who oversees Public Relations, managed by Kerry Masson. Director Arvizu also oversees four directorates: The Strategic Development & Analysis directorate is managed by Associate Director Bobi Garrett. It comprises the Strategic Energy Analysis and Applications Center, managed by Doug Arent; the Laboratory Development Office, managed by Sue Hock; and the Technology Transfer Office, managed by Tom Williams. Ron Benioff, Gian Porro and Bob Westby serve as Technology Managers. The Energy Sciences directorate is managed by Associate Director Ray Stults. It comprises the Chemical and Biosciences Center, managed by James Brainard and the Materials and Computational Science Center, managed by Steven Hammond. Garry Rumbles, Mike Seibert and Alex Zunger serve as Research Fellows. |

It comprises the National Center for Photovoltaics, managed by Lawrence Kazmerski; the National Wind Technology Center, managed by acting director Bobi Garrett; the Buildings and Thermal Systems Center, managed by Ronald Judkoff; and the Electric Systems Center, managed by David Mooney. Mary Werner, Dick DeBlasio, Charlie Visser, Gerry Nix, Ronald Hulstrom and Brian Smith serve as Technology Managers. Tim Coutts, David Ginley and Bob Thresher serve as Research Fellows. The Renewable Fuels Science & Technology directorate is managed by Associate Director Dale Gardner. It comprises the National Bioenergy Center, managed by Mike Cleary; the Hydrogen Technologies and Systems Center managed by Robert Remick; and the Transportation Technologies and Systems Center, managed by Barbara Goodman.
