The Manning School Triumphs in Middle School Science Bowl

Golden, Colo. — Students from The Manning School took top honors at the Middle School Science Bowl today after a final round of rapid-fire questions and answers about earth science, physical science, life science, math and general science. After surviving the morning round robin competitions and afternoon double elimination contests, The Manning School was victorious over Horizon Community Middle School.

Ten teams competed in the daylong competition at the Colorado School of Mines, including Adams City Middle School, Commerce City; Christian Fellowship School, Lakewood; Heaton Middle School, Pueblo; Horizon Community Middle School, Aurora; Jenkins Middle School and Sabin Middle School, Colorado Springs; The Manning School, Golden; Monte Vista Middle School, Monte Vista; Southern Hills Middle School, Boulder; and Wellington Junior High School, Wellington.

As the winning team in the regional competition, The Manning School students earned the opportunity to compete in the National Middle School Bowl, June 23 - 26, also at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo.

The competition is managed by the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) National Renewable Energy Laboratory and sponsored by Midwest Research Institute and the Xcel Energy Foundation.
