Free Consumer Workshops On Solar & Wind Power For Farm & Ranch At National Western Stock Show

Golden, Colo., Dec. 9, 1997 -- The U.S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) will host three free consumer workshops on solar and wind power for the farm and ranch at the 1998 National Western Stock Show and Rodeo. The workshops will show how photovoltaic (solar) and wind energy can be economical options for farmers and ranchers, with such applications as remote stock watering, electric fence charging and irrigation. Workshops will be held at National Western's Beef Palace Auction Arena in the basement of the Hall of Education at the following times:
Sunday, Jan. 18 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Sunday, Jan. 25 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
NREL will also have an information booth in the Stock Show's Hall of Education. Free literature on renewable energy is available at the booth, which will be open during weekdays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Jan. 10 - 25.
