Rescheduled for Wednesday, November 11, 2009: Power Lunch Lecture Series: Does a Renewable Energy System Make Economic Sense? By Dan Chiras

November 11, 2009, 12:00 - 1:00 MST

  • Golden, CO - Visitors Center
  • Contact: Visitors Center 303.384.6565

In this presentation, we'll examine four highly useful economic techniques that homeowners can use to analyze the economics of a wind or solar system using real life examples. We'll explore financial incentives like the Federal Tax Credit, utility rebates, and USDA REAP grants that help lower the initial cost of systems.

Dan Chiras is a green building consultant and an internationally acclaimed author of 25 books on residential green building, residential renewable energy, and sustainability, including The Homeowner's Guide to Renewable Energy, Power from the Wind, and The Solar House. Dan is founder and director of The Evergreen Institute where he teaches courses on green building, solar energy, and wind energy, and more (www.evergreeninstitute.org).

Bring your lunch to enjoy during the presentation. Call 303-384-6565 to make a reservation for this free public program. Please, note that parking is limited at the Visitors Center.

Additional parking is available at Building 27 and NREL shuttle service is provided before and after the program. If you are using the NREL shuttle, allow extra time to reach the Visitors Center by noon for the beginning of the presentation.
