Windows 3.x/9x/NT/200x/XP Tardis Instructions
Download and Install Tardis for your operating system
How to use the software
- After installing the software, run Tardis by going to the control panel and selecting Tardis 2000 (Win 3.x/9x users should go to Start -> Programs -> Tardis -> Tardis 2000).
- It already contains a list of Time Servers, it is recommend that they all be deleted, by clicking "Clear All".
- Add a new server, by clicking "Add".
- For address type: midc.nrel.gov or 204.132.141.30
- For the name, type any name you want (example: SRRL GPS Time Server)
- Protocol should be: SNTP/NTP
- Then click OK.
- The status line should notify you what the software is doing.
- You can click "options" if you want to change settings, such as update interval, etc.
Recommended: Disable built-in Windows Time Service (W32Time) -- Win NT/200x/XP/Vista/7 only
- Open the "Windows Services", by clicking: Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services.
- Double click on "Windows Time" (near the bottom of list).
- Make sure the "Startup type" is set to "Disabled".
- If the "Service status" does not say "Stopped", then click the "Stop" button.
- Click "OK" and close the services window.
Notice: SRRL's NTP Server is only available to NREL Users.
