How to add an Internet time server

Double click the time display (usually in the lower right corner) or open the "Date and Time" in the Windows Control Panel.
Select the "Internet Time" tab.
Make sure the "Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server" is checked.
Enter either the name or IP address into the Server Address field. The server name is midc.nrel.gov or 204.132.141.30.
Then click OK.
Note: Clicking on "Update Now" may not work, if you did not click on OK or Apply after entering the server field.

How to check the status of time synchronization

Open the "Date and Time" as described above.
Select the "Internet Time" tab.
A message should appear below the server field indicating the last successful or unsuccessful time synchronization and the time for next synchronization.
Note:Windows XP time synchronization does not perform as well as Windows 2000 and may only maintain the PC clock to within ą30 seconds, if higher accuracy is required, then an alternative software such as SymmTime is recommended.
