How to set the NTP server IP address
- Run the "Windows Command Prompt", by clicking: Start -> Run and type cmd.
- At the command prompt type: net time /setsntp:204.132.141.30
- Quit the command prompt, by typing exit.
How to enable the Windows Time Service (W32Time)
- Open the "Windows Services", by clicking: Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services.
- Double click on "Windows Time" (near the bottom of list).
- Make sure the "Startup type" is set to "Automatic".
- If the "Service status" does not say "Started", then click the "Start" button.
- Click "OK" and close the services window.
- If this is the first time the service is started, it should immediately attempt to set the time.
Checking the status of the W32Time service
- The W32Time service will automatically try maintain the computer clock to within ±2 seconds of SRRL's NTP server.
- Any errors or large time discrepancies will be recorded in the "System Event Log", which can be viewed using the "Event Viewer" (also in the Administrative Tools).
Notice: SRRL's NTP Server is only available to NREL Users.
