Visiting the Library

Lending Policy

The NREL Library will lend material to outside requesters via their local library's Interlibrary Loan Services. Visitors may not borrow from our collection directly.

The NREL Library comprises the main Library in Golden, Colorado and the Wind Technical Library at the National Wind Technology Center near Boulder, Colorado.

Visiting Procedures

Library hours: Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

  1. Please call the Information Desk at 303-275-4215 before visiting either branch.

  2. Visitors to NREL must be badged and escorted. To visit the main NREL Library, visitors should arrive at NREL's South Table Mountain site and drive up to the East Site Entrance Building window where Security staff will confirm visitors are on the expected visitor list. Visitors will receive a parking placard and should park in the Research Support Facility (RSF) Visitor Parking Lot.

    Visitors will then enter the RSF lobby where their identification will be checked and a visitor badge provided. NREL hosts will meet their visitors at the RSF.

    Visitors are required to show government-issued photo identification (for example, driver's license, passport, or military ID). Foreign nationals are required to have advance security approval.
