The Power System of the Future – Innovations, Trends, and Signposts
In this seminar, Dr. Bryan Hannegan, Vice President, Environment and Renewables for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) talks about innovations, trends, and signposts along the evolution path of the power system of the future.
For over 100 years, the electric power industry has met the challenge of providing reliable, affordable, and environmentally responsible electricity that has literally helped to "power the world" and improve human health and welfare. That challenge has not changed.
What has changed is the way in which we are providing that electricity and the demands that our modern society is placing upon our industry. New resources, new technologies, and new demands are transforming our power system at a pace that is unrivaled; it's been said that our industry may face more change in the next 10 years than it has in the last 100 years.
