Sabbaticals and Faculty Appointments

There are many exciting research participant programs at NREL. Qualified university faculty, students, and professional scientists and engineers have the opportunity to participate in the Laboratory's research and development programs, initiate new areas of research, and establish a base for ongoing collaborations. You also can develop expertise in disciplines related to renewable energy research for application at your home institution or in your future career pursuits.

NREL's sabbatical opportunities are designed for senior scientists or engineers who have established records of research productivity and accomplishments and who are on leave from an academic, business, or governmental institution. The participants must meet NREL's conflict-of-interest requirement. Participants' employers will pay all or partial expenses. Appointments do not generally extend beyond one year. For more information, please visit the Research Participant Program site.

For information on NREL sabbaticals, please contact the Postdoctoral/Research appointment representative. For information on current student researcher positions, please visit NREL's Job Openings and select "Research Participant Program" from the "Job Group" list.
