Student teams are challenged to integrate aesthetics and modern conveniences with maximum energy production and optimal efficiency. Each team will build a uniquely designed 500-ft2 -- 800-ft2 house. Solar decathletes will transport their houses to the National Mall in Washington D.C. for the competition in the fall of 2002.
