Title:
Secretary of Energy, Spencer Abraham and Congressman Bob Beauprez (R-CO 7th) visit the AFUF; standing in front of the solar demonstration house, Spencer Abraham talks about DOE's new website
Caption
"By incorporating advanced energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies that reduce energy use into building designs, the U.S. building sector is achieving significant results," Abraham said. "Individuals can also play an important role in reducing energy usage. Conserving energy in the home saves consumers money today while also helping ensure abundant energy supplies in the future." Abraham's tour of NREL focused on experimental equipment such as desiccant dehumidifiers that help remove humidity from air inside buildings more effectively than air conditioners, creating more comfort without additional energy use.
