2003 Parabolic Trough Thermal Energy Storage Workshop
NREL hosted a Parabolic Trough Thermal Energy Storage Workshop on February 20-21, 2003, in Golden, Colorado. The workshop updated industry and researchers on significant R&D advances in thermal energy storage technologies for parabolic trough power plants. The workshop also gathered input for future R&D activities and provided opportunities for collaboration.
The workshop featured presentations on the following topics:
- Overview
- Indirect two-tank molten salt
- Inorganic molten-salt heat transfer fluid
- Concrete storage
- Phase-change storage
- Advanced heat transfer fluid
- Modeling methods
- Storage humor
