Overview of Group Research Topics Researchers and Publications

Dr. Aditi Herwadkar joined NREL in May 2008 as a post doctoral researcher in the Computational Materials Science Group. In 2006, under the supervision of Professor Walter R.L. Lambrecht, she received her Ph.D. in Physics from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. Her thesis was entitled, "Electronic structure and Magnestism in some Transition Metal Nitrides: Mn doped ScN, dilute magnetic semiconductor and CrN, Mott insulator." Aditi has studied electronic structure applications to various materials with a strong interest in computational methodology based on first principle methods and extensions beyond LDA.

Current research interests:

  1. Computational materials physics - focusing on simulating electronic and magnetic properties of semiconductor compounds and alloys.
  2. Nanoscale material design by optimization - theory and modeling in nanoscience.
  3. Hydrogen storage in nano tubes.
