About the Workshop
The Solar Resources and Forecasting Workshop builds on the past successes of solar resource research and collaboration at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
The Solar Resource Assessment Workshop, held in October 2008 and hosted by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, was well attended by industry, academia, and government interests. In response to a need expressed by attendees, NREL produced Concentrating Solar Power: Best Practices Handbook for the Collection and Use of Solar Resource Data after the event.
Since the 2008 workshop, several advances in solar monitoring, satellite remote sensing, and forecasting of solar resources have occurred, illustrating a need for renewed collaboration. The Solar Resources and Forecasting Workshop will provide this opportunity.
