Abstract

NREL is a leader in the development and application of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. As a demonstration of this leadership, NREL built the Research Support Facility (RSF)—a 360,000 sq. ft. LEED Platinum Net-Zero energy building. Despite its energy intensity, NREL's data center is located inside the RSF. This presentation will provide an overview of NREL's ultra-efficient data center, and other sustainable IT initiatives, that have played a key role in complementing the energy efficiency of the RSF.
