Carbon Dioxide Content Analysis of WIREC 2008 Pledges

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has been authorized by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Department of State to document the carbon dioxide (CO2) savings from the pledges made at the 2008 Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (WIREC).

WIREC is working to bring together government, civil society, and private business leaders to address the benefits and costs of a major and rapid scale-up in the global deployment of renewable energy technology. More information is available on the WIREC Web site. A database of the WIREC 2008 pledges is available on the REN21 Web site.

A report documenting the analysis methodology, "Washington International Renewable Energy Conference 2008 Pledges: Methodology and Assumptions Summary" (PDF 703 KB) Download Acrobat Reader, is available on this site.
