The National Wind Technology Center (NWTC) is about 5 miles south of Boulder, Colorado. The cities of Louisville and Broomfield are nearby.

Please note that the NWTC is not located at the main NREL facility in Golden, Colorado; it is approximately 25 miles north of Golden.

If you plan to visit the National Wind Technology Center you must check in at the NWTC Site Entrance Building and provide government-issued photo identification (for example driver's license, passport, or military ID) to obtain a security badge before entering the site. Foreign nationals must check with their host prior to their visit to make sure that a Foreign National Data Card has been signed and approved.
